Anotace

Pierre Emmanuel a visité quelques pays de l'Europe de l'Est avant 1948 et il y reconnaissait déjà les signes d’un régime totalitaire naissant et compatissait avec ses collègues dans l’impossibilité de s’exprimer librement non seulement dans les années cinquante, mais aussi plus tard, ce qui l'a mené à les soutenir activement.

Anotace česky

Pierre Emmanuel navštívil několik zemí východní Evropy před rokem 1948 a už tehdy rozpoznal znaky vznikajícího totalitního režimu a sympatizoval se svými kolegy v nemožnosti svobodně se vyjadřovat nejen v padesátých letech, ale i později, což ho vedlo k tomu, aby je aktivně podporoval.

Pierre Emmanuel visited some countries of Eastern Europe before 1948 and he already recognized the signs of a nascent totalitarian regime and sympathized with his colleagues in the impossibility of expressing himself freely not only in the fifties, but also later, which led him to actively support them.
