Abstract
Most of the recent analyses are working with quantities, weights or with typochronology. Besides, mostly finds from archaeological objects are analysed. One of these sites is Pohansko near Břeclav (Czech Republic), where the majority of published material comes from archaeological objects, even though most of the finds are from cultural layers from around them. The key aspect of presented research is to provide an accessible method to implement semi-automatic image-based measurement of ceramic fragments. Therefore, it should be low-cost, user-friendly and not time consuming, especially when applied in the field. With the method presented here, we are able to define size groups of ceramic fragments and analyse its connection to space.
