Anotace

V originále

The paper is based on the assumption that proposals in the field of energy policy as a "sensitive policy area" should be rejected by Eurosceptics for ideological reasons. It is mainly (but not exclusively) Eurosceptic MEPs who claim that energy policy is a matter of national interest for the Member States. Explicit aim of this paper is to identify the groups who reject proposals in the field of energy policy. Findings are based on the analysis of roll call votes (RCV) in the European Parliament. Moreover, using voting data, we want to identify possible substantial differences between hard and soft Eurosceptical groups in the European Parliament. Based on the widely accepted definitions of hard and soft Euroscepticism, we analyse the behaviour of Eurosceptical groups in the European Parliament in order to assess how they differ in voting on energy policy.
