Anotace
Differentiated integration has been intensively analysed and studied in recent years, particularly after United Kingdom decision to leave the European Union in 2016. Despite of this attention covering conceptual work as well as articles analysing specific examples of differentiation, particularly in various EU policies, various gaps remains. One of them represents regional cooperation as a factor influencing differentiation within the EU. On the basis of existing research on regional cooperation within the EU and on differentiation, our article offers an analytical tool capturing this neglected problem related to the differentiation. It also suggests its application to the case of Visegrad cooperation as this alliance of four post-communist Central and Eastern European EU Member states is often mentioned as a serious threat to the future of EU coherency. As such, this piece contributes to the wider theoretical discussion on the EU differentiation.
