Abstract

Sta´ja issleduet rol´ vremeni. Utverzhdaet, chto Kost´ja Klochkov otlichaetsjy ot drugikh personazhej tem, chto on aktivno preodolevaet smert´, kotoroj passivno podchinjajutsja ostal´nye personazhi. On ubezhden, chto vremja, kotoroe mekhanicheski otmerjajet putů k smerti, mozhno preodolet´tak, chto on ovladeet chasami na kolol´noj bashne, k kotorym on imeet dostup. On sposoben sdvinut´mekhanizm chasov - takim obrazom on po svoemu (uzhe pomeshaemomu) umu vnutrenne stanovitsja bessmertnym. Remizov vkhodit v rjad russkikh pisatelej, kotorye opravdyvajut aktivnoe otnoshenie k zhizni.

Abstract (in Czech)

Stať si všímá role času. Dospívá k názoru, že hlavní protagonista prózy Kosťa Kločkov se od jiných postav liší tím, že aktivně přemáhá smrt, jíž se pasivně podřizují ostatní postavy. Je přesvědčen, že čas, který mechanicky odměřuje úsek života až k neúprosně přicházející smrti lze pokořit a přemoci tím, že ovládne hodinový stroj na kostelní věži, ke kterému má přístup. Hodiny posune a ve svém vnitřním světě lišícím se od "normality" se tak stává nesmrtelným. Remizov se touto prózou zařazuje do toho proudu ruské literatury, jenž přitakává aktivnímu postoji k životu.

Abstract (in English)

The article examines the role of time in the story The Clock by A. Remizov. It is supposed that the hero of the story Kuzma Klochkow differs from the other characters in that way, that he wants to take the responsibility for his life in his own hands. Being deprived by the fate (his nose is crooked), he tries to live, i.e. to overcome actively such a handicap. While identifying time and fate, seeing all his relatives and friends to head up to death passively, their family shop with clocks to be on the verge of bankruptcy, his activity concentrates on the clock on the church tower he is responsible for. He believes to overcome fate/death by taking control over “time”. He succeeds in shifting the clock one hour forward. In that way he accomplishes (at least in his disordered mind) his task – he eliminates death for himself and finds his own world to live in. Concentrating on the theme of active attitude to man´s life Remizov is close to the same theme in Russian literature at the very beginning of the 20th century.
