Anotace

In meinem Beitrag fokussiere ich literaturwissenschaftliche Konstituierung der nationalen Identität aufgrund von Thematisierung problematischer geschichtlich-sozialer Ereignisse im dramatischen Schaffen von Lukas Bärfuss und in Werken ausgewählter deutschsprachiger AutorInnen. Ins Zentrum des Interesses rückt vor allem der Vergleich von Verdrängungsstrategien der nationalen Vergangenheit im schweizerischen und deutschsprachigen Kontext. Beispielsweise übt Elfriede Jelinek am „Erinnerungs-Defekt“ staatlicher und gesellschaftlicher Strukturen harsche Kritik. In diese Reihe lässt sich neben dieser Autorin und etwa Thomas Bernhard auch Marlene Streeruwitz einordnen, in deren künstlerischer Profilierung Österreichkritik mit Blick auf den Umgang mit seiner Nazivergangenheit eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Eine ähnliche Stellungnahme, wie im Essay „Die Schweiz ist des Wahnsinns“ von Lukas Bärfuss, in welchem ein „Rechtsruck“ in der Schweiz angeprangert wird, vertritt auch Peter Turrini, ein anderer Dramatiker, der die fehlende geschichtliche Auseinandersetzung und Kriegsschuldabweisung in Österreich problematisiert. Eine weitgehende Einbeziehung der Literatur von und über Streeruwitz und Turrini ist eines der Anliegen des Aufenthaltes in Greifswald. Eine gründliche Recherche der Primär- und Sekundärliteratur zu diesen AutorInnen würde Potenziale für meine weitere Forschung offenlegen, die jetzt verborgen bleiben. Es wird vor allem versucht, die Anprangerung der mangelhaften Vergangenheitsbewältigung theoretisch aufzufassen und Postulate aufzustellen, die eine Distinktion zwischen schweizerischer und deutschsprachiger dramatischer Auseinandersetzung ermöglichen würden.

I focused on literary constitutions of national identity on the basis of problematic historical events in the dramatic work of Lukas Bärfuss and in works of selected German-speaking authors. Of particular interest is a comparison of historical reappraisals of the national past in the Swiss context as well as in the context of the German-speaking area. For example, Elfriede Jelinek practices harsh criticism of the “memory defect” of state and social structures. In addition to this author and Thomas Bernhard, Marlene Streeruwitz also represents this approach. In her poetics, a criticism of Austrian domestic issues regarding its Nazi past plays an important role. A similar statement, as in the essay “A warning call: Switzerland got mad” by Lukas Bärfuss, in which an inclination to right-wing ideas in Switzerland is critically examined, is also represented by Peter Turrini, another playwright who problematizes the lack of historical dispute and war debt repudiation in Austria. An extensive inclusion of literature by and about Streeruwitz and Turrini has been one of the concerns of the stay in Greifswald. A thorough search of primary and secondary literature about these authors could reveal a potential for my further research which now remains hidden. Above all, the attempts have been made to theoretically understand the condemnation of the inadequate coming to terms with the past and to establish postulates that would make it possible to distinguish between Swiss and German-speaking dramatic confrontation of it.
