Abstract

Príspevok prináša prehľad písomných dôkazov o prítomnosti zvierat v antickej mágií, konkrétne v antickej literatúre, v Gréckych magických papyrusoch a v preklínacích tabuľkách. Zároveň uvádza do problematiky definície mágie a rozdielov medzi mágiou a náboženstvom.

Abstract (in English)

This paper offers the review of the written evidence on the presence of animals in the ancient magic, particularly in the ancient literature, in Greek magical papyri and in curse tablets. At the same time it presents the issues of definitions and differences between magic and religion.
