Proč vznikaly a čím jsou charakteristické umělecké sbírky prvorepublikových lékařů, bankéřů, advokátů, podnikatelů? Společně se podíváme do historie uměleckého sběratelství 20. století jako aktivity neodmyslitelně spjaté s životním stylem dynamicky se rozvíjející střední třídy. Jaké byly osudy těchto kolekcí a jejich majitelů po druhé světové válce a kde jsou dnes? A co se dělo s konfiskovaným uměleckým majetkem odsunutých Němců v tomto období? Víte, že jedno z největších středisek, kde byl soustředěn a následně ve velkém prodáván bylo právě v Brně? Tyto a další otázky k problematice sběratelství a provenienčního výzkumu v českých sbírkách otevře a náměty k případné společné diskusi nabídne přednáška Dr. Marcely Rusinko, autorky publikace "Snad nesbírate obrazy?".

Why did the art collections of interwar Czechoslovkia period physicians, bankers, lawyers, businessmen originated and what were their characteristics? Together, we look at the history of 20th century art collecting as an activity inherently linked to the lifestyle of a dynamically developing middle class. What were the fates of these collections as well as their owners after World War II? Where are they today? And what happened to the confiscated artistic possessions of the displaced Germans during this period? Did you know that one of the largest centers where confiscated assets were concentrated and then sold in bulk was in Brno? These and other questions on the issue of collecting and provenance research in Czech collections will be opened by this lecture.
