Dōgen was a great thinker, scholar, teacher, and writer of the Kamakura period (1185-1333), the founder of the Japanese Sōtō Zen school. He authored hundreds of texts, the most important of which have been gathered in his Shōbō genzō manuscript. In this paper, I endeavour to present a detailed linguist analysis of Zenki, chapter 22 of the Shōbō genzō, to illustrate the language of Dōgen and his period.

Dōgen byl velký myslitel, učenec, učitel a spisovatel, který žil a působil v období Kamakura (1185-1333), a také zakladatel japonské zenové školy Sōtō. Napsal stovky textů, z nichž nejdůležitější byly shromážděny v jeho rukopisu Šóbógenzó. Tento text představuje podrobnou lingvistickou analýzu textu s názvem Zenki a slouží jako ilustrace jazyka daného období i jazyka Dógena samotného.
