Cytogenetika člověka je fascinující a dynamický vědní obor, který zkoumá počty a strukturu lidských chromosomů. Nádorová cytogenetika se svými cytogenetickými metodami patří mezi klinicky nejvýznamnější vědní obor, poskytující diagnostické, prognostické a terapeutické informace. Její současná role v klinické praxi zůstává i v éře celogenomového sekvenování nepostradatelná.

Human cytogenetics is a fascinating and dynamic scientific field that examines the numbers and structure of human chromosomes. Tumor cytogenetics belongs with its cytogenetic methods is one of the most clinically important scientific disciplines providing diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic information. Its current role in clinical practice remains in the era of whole-genome sequencing indispensable.
