N2 - The financial interests of the European Union are threatened by infringements in various forms, which are classified as criminal offenses. The responsibility for protecting the European Unions' financial interests from such conduct lies jointly with the European Union and the Member States. The aim of this article is to summarize the development of European legislation on criminal offenses and penalies related to damage to the financial interests of the European Union and to show the way of its implementation into the national legislation on the example of the Czech Republic.
