Despite the functioning of the PB in Poland for several years, participatory budgets are not common at the regional level and the adopted solutions are not uniform. The analysis was to identify the most commonly used solutions, which may lead to the unification of future regional PBs in Poland, and be a comparative material for researchers analysing the possibility of introducing regional PBs in other countries. The results of the analysis clearly indicate that regional PBs can complement the activities of lower-level local governments. It is important to indicate a number of restrictions resulting from the scope of competences (including regional self-government subsidiarity), financial conditions (low-income potential) and the specifics of the participatory budget (local nature of activities).
