Cílem příspěvku spadajícího do oblasti sekundárního výzkumu bylo představit hlavní témata současného pedagogického výzkumu v oblasti rozvoje interkulturní komunikační kompetence (ICC), přičemž zvláštní pozornost byla věnována studiím z let 2010–2021, a to obzvláště těm, které přinášejí témata dosud zanedbávaná ve výzkumu v České republice. Po úvodní rešerši bylo z původních 437 zdrojů (z nichž bylo 92 akademických článků) 382 vyřazeno z důvodu replikace nebo reprodukce předchozích znalostí nebo odlišnému výzkumnému kontextu (např. oblasti podnikání). Ze zbylých 55 zdrojů bylo ve druhém čtení ze stejných důvodů vyřazeno dalších 32 studií. Výsledný zkoumaný soubor pak tvořilo 32 studií. Příspěvek byl zaměřen na hlavní výzkumná témata, která se ve studiích objevila a která se dají rozdělit do dvou kategorií: studie zabývající se rekonceptualizací ICC a konceptu tzv. interkulturního mluvčího a jeho role a studie zabývající se rekonceptualizací ICC v kontextu moderních technologií a tzv. third-space culture.

The aim of the contribution falling into the category of secondary research was to present the main themes of current educational research in the field of the development of intercultural communicative competence (ICC), paying particular attention to studies from 2010 –2021, specifically to those bringing topics hitherto neglected in the research of the provenance of the Czech Republic. After the initial search, 437 sources were included into the sample (of which 92 were research articles). 382 of them were exclude mainly because of the fact they were replicating or reproducing previous knowledge or devoted to a different research context (e.g., business sphere). Of the remaining 55 sources, further 23 studies were excluded at second reading for the very same reasons. The final examined body of research consisted of 32 studies. The contribution focused on the main research topics found in the studies, which can be divided into two categories: studies dealing with the reconceptualization of ICC and the concept of the so-called intercultural speaker and his role and studies focusing on reconceptualization of ICC in the context of modern technologies and the so-called third-space culture.
