In addition to describing the rationale and theoretically driven design principles behind this course of integrated writing and teaching skills development, the chapter details how the original face-to-face course was adapted to online delivery. The new teaching environment required the team of instructors from five universities to incorporate instructional design elements of online education without abandoning the original learning objectives or their commitment to active learning methods. After paying special attention to the key component of success, team teaching, the chapter concludes with implications and recommendations for academic writing courses for academics both face-to-face and online.
