Anotace

V originále

The contribution presented energy poverty in its traditional understanding - a household's inability to heat its home to an acceptable level. District heating systems are essential in providing domestic heating in the CEE region. Unfortunately, due to their material and social characteristics, they may bring many opportunities but also risks vis-a-vis the energy vulnerability of the population. The most profound knowledge of the energy vulnerability in the Czech Republic is crucial for the sector's just transformation. The contribution presented a two-phased sequential explanatory research design to enrich current knowledge empirically and methodologically and provide a practical basis for energy poverty prevention and alleviation. The presentation added new visualizations of the country's socio-spatial distribution of energy vulnerability and insights from the second round of interviews with municipalities' representatives.
