Background Identifying and retrieving relevant clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) is essential for developing the national guidelines using the adoption, adaptation or adolopment approaches to guideline production. Identifying CPGs is a comprehensive process that includes searching guideline databases/repositories and screening websites of guideline developers or point-of-care clinical reference tools. Bibliographic databases might be considered only a supplemental source for finding CPGs, as many high-quality CPGs are not indexed there.
