Anotace

Die Monographie stellt die erste zusammenfassende Behandlung der Anfänge der lateinischen Schriftkultur in den böhmischen Ländern mit paläographischen und kodikologischen Methoden dar; der Autor analysiert eine Vielzahl von schriftlichen Quellen, auch solche, die bisher völlig ausgespart wurden. Es handelt sich hauptsächlich um Handschriftenfragmente - viele davon werden hier erstmals veröffentlicht. Das Buch enthält auch die Rekonstruktion des ersten benediktinischen Skriptoriums in Břevnov/Breunau in der Mitte des 11. Jahrhunderts und des Skriptoriums in Hradisko/Gradisch bei Olmütz aus der ersten Hälfte des 12. Jahrhunderts.

The monograph represents the first comprehensive treatment of the beginnings of the Latin written culture in the Czech lands using paleographic and codicological methods; the author analyzes a large number of written sources, including those that have hitherto been completely omitted. These are mainly manuscript fragments - many of which are published here for the first time. The book also contains the reconstruction of the first Benedictine scriptorium in Břevnov in the mid-11th century and the scriptorium in Hradisko near Olomouc from the first half of the 12th century.
