Abstract

Dne 22. října 2022 Vatikán již podruhé prodloužil prozatímní dohodu mezi Svatým stolcem a čínskou vládou.[1] Poprvé byla smlouva podepsána v roku 2018 na období dvou let, následně byla prodloužena v roce 2020. Podepsání prozatímní dohody bylo historickým momentem, kdy Svatý stolec a vláda Čínské lidové republiky (ČLR) podepsala vzájemnou dohodu vůbec poprvé. Přesný obsah dohody zůstává stále nezveřejněný, ale víme, že ústřední problematikou je svěcení biskupů v ČLR. Dohoda uděluje Komunistické straně (KS) Číny pravomoc volit katolické biskupy v Číně, ale Svatý stolec si ponechává právo veta.

Abstract (in English)

On 22 October 2022, the Vatican extended the provisional agreement between the Holy See and the Chinese government for the second time.The first time the agreement was signed in 2018 for a period of two years, and it was subsequently extended in 2020. The signing of the provisional agreement was a historic moment when the Holy See and the government of the People's Republic of China (PRC) signed a mutual agreement for the first time. The exact content of the agreement remains undisclosed, but we know that the central issue is the consecration of bishops in the PRC. The agreement grants the Communist Party of China (CPC) the power to elect Catholic bishops in China, but the Holy See retains veto power.
