Abstract
Torbernite (Cu(UO2)2(PO4)4·12H2O) or its dehydrated metamorphic product, metatorbernite, was found in two samples from granitic pegmatite outcropping near Šejby, Czech Republic. Samples representing (meta)torbernite are a small solitary beryl crystal (in the collection of the South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice) and a larger pegmatite specimen with quartz, beryl, muscovite, and Nb/Ta mineral. (Meta)torbernite forms green tabular crystals up to 2 mm in size (enclosed in muscovite in the lager specimen). The mineral was analysed using EDS coupled to an electron microscope Jeol 6490 LV at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic.
