Abstract

De twee Moravische vakgroepen neerlandistik vierden in 2022 het 75-jarig bestaan. Om bij dit jubileum stil te staan, organiseerde de vakgroep in Olomouc op 06/10/2022 De dag van de wetenschap, een symposium en Brno de Dag van de vertaling, gericht aan de studenten van de Tsjecho-Slowaakse neerlandistieken. De Dag van de vertaling werd feestelijk geopend door de heer Koen Haverbeke, de Vlaamse vertegenwoordiger en door het hoofd van de Vakgroep Duits, de heer Aleš Urválek en door het sectiehoofd van de neerlandistiek mevrouw Marta Kostelecká. Vervolgens hebben mevrouw Blanka Juranová en mevrouw Veronika Horáčková het Europees vertaalproject CELA voorgesteld en ieder van ze hield een vertaalworkshop met de studenten en een gesprek met de auteurs Yelena Schmitz en Lisa Weeda, wiens teksten de studenten vertaalden. De studenten hebben van tevoren een fragment van de tekst vertaald zodat de vertaalproblemen en oplossingen effectief konden worden besproken tijdens de workshop. Het tweede onderdeel van de Dag van de vertaling was een lezing van de vertaler de heer Kees Mercks over de vertaling van Het Labyrint der Wereld van Jan Amos Comenius en de studenten kregen ook de kans om de vertaling van het boek Jan Amos Comenius, vier eeuwen voetsporen in Nederland, waaraan het merendeel van de studenten heeft meegewerkt, te bespreken. De Dag van de vertaling was mede mogelijk gemaakt dankzij de Algemene Afvaardiging van de Vlaamse regering in Tsjechië, het CELA-project, het Erasmus+ project, Czech Lit en de Taalunie.

Abstract (in English)

The two Moravian departments of neerlandistik celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2022. To commemorate this anniversary, organised the department in Olomouc on 06/10/2022 The Day of Science, a symposium, and Brno organised The Day of Translation, aimed at students of Czech and Slovak Dutch studies. The Day of Translation was festively opened by Mr Koen Haverbeke, the Flemish representative and by the head of the Department of German, Mr Aleš Urválek and by the section head of neerlandistics Ms Marta Kostelecká. Ms Blanka Juranová and Ms Veronika Horáčková then introduced the European translation project CELA and each of them held a translation workshop with the students and a discussion with authors Yelena Schmitz and Lisa Weeda, whose texts the students translated. The students translated an extract of the text in advance so that translation problems and solutions could be discussed effectively during the workshop. The second component of the Day of Translation was a lecture by the translator Mr Kees Mercks on the translation of Jan Amos Comenius's The Labyrinth of the World, and the students also had the opportunity to discuss the translation of the book Jan Amos Comenius, Four Centuries of Footprints in the Netherlands, on which most of the students collaborated. The Day of Translation was also made possible thanks to the Diplomatic Representation of the Flemish Government in the Czech Republic, the CELA project, the Erasmus+ project, Czech Lit and the Dutch Language Union.
