Du point de vue de la philologie, ce sont les troubles du langage qui sont intéressants pour les neuro- et psycho- linguistes et qui sont aussi caractéristiques de cette maladie. Avec l'évolution de la maladie, la personne atteinte a tendance à produire des néologismes. En lexicologie, le néologisme est un mot nouveau ou un sens nouveau d’un mot existant déjà dans la langue tandis que dans le contexte médical, il s’agit d’un mot créé par le malade mental par déformation de phonèmes, substitution, etc. L’objectif de cette communication sera de comparer les deux traditions terminologiques, linguistique et médicale, pour mieux comprendre comment et quand le terme a « migré » d’une discipline à l’autre.
