Our results suggest that the "japaneseness" of japanese games was stressed distinctively more and consistently than the national origins of games made in other countries. The two main tendencies were 1) japanese games othered as "weird, crazy or perverted" and 2) the game elements of Japanese games were described as different (more focus on story, young protagonists, avoidance of american clichés, different genre preferences).
