Abstract

Předmětem monografie je obecná teorie umění, estetika a umělecká kritika Miroslava Tyrše (1832–1884). Kniha analyzuje tyto oblasti v Tyršově myšlení i díle, jejich dobový kontext i případné inspirace a jejich vliv či spojitost s dalšími Tyršovými oblastmi zájmu, především na kultivaci těla v rámci Sokolského hnutí. Kniha je také zaměřena na diskusi o Tyršových myšlenkách v pozdější odborné literatuře i umělecké kritice, stejně jako možné paralely k dnešním estetickým či uměnovědným diskusím, týkajících se tělesnosti či fyzického cvičení.

Abstract (in English)

The monograph will comprise research on the general theory of art, the aesthetics and the art criticism of Miroslav Tyrš (1832–1884). It will analyze these areas in Tyrš's works, their context, possible sources of inspiration, and their influence or connection with his other areas of interest, especially physical training in the Sokol movement. The book will also focus on the discussion of Tyrš's ideas in later scholarly literature, including art criticism, as well as possible arallels to today's discussions about the aesthetics of the human body and physical training.
