By modifying the scaffolds of such compounds, molecules with a wide spectrum of action can be obtained, and thus it is advantageous to use them for the design of multi-target anti-invasive agents. Recently, new anilides structurally derived from hydroxyarylcarboxylic acids and their carbamates have been designed, which showed strong bactericidal activity against drug-resistant clinical isolates of Gram-positive bacteria as well as activity against mycobacteria. These small molecules will be discussed within this contribution. ER -
