Anotace

Das Jahr l6l8 wird als einer der Schlüsselmomente der europäischen Geschichte angesehen. Vielleicht findet sich aus diesem Grunde dessen Beschreibung und häufig auch seine Illustration in nahezu jedem trhrbuch der europäischen und der weltgeschichte. In diesem Jahr begann nämlich. der Dreissigjährige Krieg, der eine Zäsur nicht allein in der Sphäre des Militärwesens, sondern in der gesamten europäischen Zivilisation darstellt. Es hat den Anschein, dass die Geschehnisse auf der Prager Burg im Mai l6l8 auch einen Wendepunkt zwischen der traditionellen und der neuzeitlichen Gesellschaft bilden und der symbolischen Bedeutung der Ereignisse auf der Place de la Bastille im Juli 1789 in nichts nachstehen.

Rok l6l8 je považován za jeden z klíčových okamžiků evropských dějin. Snad i proto se jeho popis a často i vyobrazení nachází téměř v každé učebnici evropských a světových dějin. Právě v tomto roce začala třicetiletá válka, která znamenala přelom nejen v oblasti vojenství, ale i v celé evropské civilizaci. Zdá se, že i události na Pražském hradě v květnu l6l8 představují přelom mezi tradiční a moderní společností a svým symbolickým významem se vyrovnají událostem na Place de la Bastille v červenci 1789.

The year l6l8 is considered one of the key moments in European history. Perhaps for this reason, its description and often its illustration can be found in almost every textbook on European and world history. It was in this year that the Thirty Years' War began, marking a turning point not only in the sphere of military affairs but in European civilisation as a whole. It would seem that the events at Prague Castle in May l6l8 also represent a turning point between traditional and modern society and are on a par with the symbolic significance of the events at the Place de la Bastille in July 1789.
