Abstract

Třetí přímá volba prezidenta České republiky v roce 2023 se konala v atmosféře plné napětí a očekávání. Tu způsobilo hned několik souběžných faktorů. Jedním z nich byl výkon funkce dosluhujícího prezidenta Miloše Zemana, dalším napětí ve společnosti vyvolané válkou na Ukrajině a s tím související energetickou krizí. Situaci ovlivňoval i příchod mnoha válečných uprchlíků a hlasité protesty a demonstrace antisystémových aktérů. Ačkoliv se nejedná o dění mající přímý vliv na volbu hlavy státu či problémy, které by prezident měl ve své kompetenci (vy)řešit, všechny tyto faktory se na podobě předvolebního klání i voleb samotných podepsaly. A právě faktorům ovlivňujícím a doprovázejícím volbu prezidenta České republiky je věnována tato kniha. Vedle představení podrobných volebních výsledků nebo podoby volebního klání přibližuje i další procesy a témata, které společně tvořily spletitou síť motivací a impulzů ovlivňujících rozhodování jak na straně politické reprezentace, tak na straně kandidátů nebo voličů. Dnes už víme, že tento mix vyústil v jednoznačné vítězství Petra Pavla. Co vše k tomu vedlo? Jaká byla cesta jednotlivých kandidátů a průběh volebního klání? A jak si kandidáti stáli v jednotlivých regionech České republiky? Na tyto otázky se kniha autorského kolektivu politologů z Masarykovy univerzity snaží odpovědět v pěti semknutých kapitolách.

Abstract (in English)

The 2023 presidential elections in the Czech Republic were held in an atmosphere full of tension and expectation, which was caused by several simultaneous factors: from the actions and behaviour of the outgoing President Miloš Zeman, through the tense social mood caused by the Russian war in Ukraine and the related energy crisis, rising prices and the arrival of a large number of refugees, to loud protests and demonstrations by anti-system actors. Although these are not factors that have a direct impact on the election of the president or problems that the head of state has within his competence to solve, all these factors had an impact on the atmosphere and form of the election campaigns and the elections themselves. The respective book is devoted to the above-mentioned factors influencing and accompanying the third direct election of the President of the Czech Republic. In addition to the presentation of the election results or the characteristics of the electoral campaigns, it also brings to light other processes and topics that together formed a complex network of motivations and impulses influencing decisions both on the side of the political representation and on the side of the candidates or voters, while this mix resulted in the unequivocal victory of Petr Pavel. What all led to the victory of Pavel? What was the path of the individual candidates and the course of the election race? And how did the candidates perform in individual regions of the Czech Republic? The book, written by a collective of political scientists from Masaryk University, discusses this in five comprehensive chapters.
