Anotace

The rise of telehealth in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) brings many benefits to the field, particularly for underserved areas lacking qualified professionals. This is often the reality for caregivers and educators supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, who typically rely on their own knowledge and skills. Promising research now points to telehealth as a valuable tool for bridging this gap and delivering key behavioral services remotely. This study is exploring the feasibility of training teachers via telehealth in the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA). The PFA is a streamlined method for identifying the underlying factors that trigger challenging behaviors. The research employs a changing criterion design, where progress is assessed via a fidelity checklist that tracks teachers' accurate implementation of specific steps. Teachers gain skills through the use of Behavior Skills Training and following a baseline, there is a role-play intervention phase with a confederate. The preliminary results are encouraging, suggesting significant potential for this approach.

Rozvoj telemedicíny v aplikované behaviorální analýze (ABA) skýtá mnoho slibných přínosů pro tento obor, a to zejména v oblastech s nedostatkem kvalifikovaných odborníků. Pečovatelé a pedagogové podporující jedince s vývojovými poruchami se často musí spoléhat pouze na vlastní zdroje, znalosti a dovednosti. Nadějný výzkum naznačuje, že telemedicína může sloužit jako cenný nástroj pro překonání této bariéry a zpřístupnění klíčových behaviorálních služeb na dálku. Tato studie se zaměřuje na proveditelnost školení učitelů v oblasti praktického funkčního hodnocení (PFA) prostřednictvím telemedicíny. PFA je zjednodušená metoda pro identifikaci základních faktorů, které vyvolávají problémové chování. Studie využívá design měnících se kritérií (changing criterion design), kde je pokrok hodnocen pomocí kontrolního seznamu věrnosti implementace, který sleduje, zda učitelé správně provádějí specifické kroky. Učitelé získávají dovednosti prostřednictvím tréninku behaviorálních dovedností a po základní fázi následuje fáze intervence v podobě hraní rolí s konfidentem. Předběžné výsledky jsou povzbudivé a naznačují značný potenciál tohoto přístupu.
