The case of Anna is conceptualized from three perspectives which are used in Gestalt therapy: a monopersonal perspective, a bipersonal perspective, and the field theory perspective. The chapter looks at how we can understand—from each perspective—the process of change, psychopathological symptoms, the therapist’s tasks, and the therapist’s position. The field-theory approach is specifically developed in detail here. The therapist’s work with their own way of being present in the therapy situation is introduced as a key process in general and in the case of Anna specifically.
