TY - JOUR ID - 355313 AU - Vetterl, Vladimír - Papadopoulos, Nikos - Dražan, Viktor - Strašák, Luděk - Hasoň, Stanislav - Dvořák, Jakub PY - 2000 TI - Nucleic acid sensing by impedance measurements JF - Electrochimica Acta VL - 45 IS - 18 SP - 2961 EP - 2961 PB - Elsevier Science SN - 00134686 KW - two-dimensional condensation KW - adsorption KW - differential capacitance KW - electrode double layer KW - electrode impedance N2 - The adsorption of cytosine, 5-bromocytosine and native and denatured DNA was follwed by measurement of the impedance of the electrode double layer. The two-dimensional condensation of both cytosine and 5-bromocytosine at the electrode surface results in the formation of a self-assembled compact layer and manifests itself as a capacitance pit on the C-E curves. The pit of 5-bromocytosine occurs around the potential of electrocapillary maximu, the pit of cytosine around -1.4 V. The electrode impedance is affected by the conformation of nucleic acid. ER -
