Abstract
Abstract (in English)
We tried to assess the association between the TaqI A polymorphism of DRD2 gene and the alcohol dependence in the group of 295 subjects (164 controls and 131 alcoholics), unrelated Caucasians from the Czech Republic. Any association between TaqI A polymorphism and alcohol dependence was detected. However, we find some errors in the methodology of some studies that publicised about significant association of the TaqI A polymorphism to the alcohol dependence. These errors are discussed in the introduction. We propose a new reappraisal of these studies.
