Abstract
A high bromide intake in rats fed a diet with sufficient iodine supply led to a marked decrease in iodide accumulation, especially by the thyroid, due to an increase in iodide elimination. The effect of a high bromide intake was particularly pronounced in rats kept under conditions of iodine deficiency.
