Během let 1998 - 1999 jsme inhalaci oxidu dusnatého (NO) zkoušeli podávat u 23 nemocných s ARDS (13 v Plzni a 10 v Brně) s průměrným věkem 48 let (20-74 let). Hodnota oxygenačního indexu (01 = paO2/FiO2) před NO testem (10-20 ppm po dobu 30 minut) byla 100 46 mmHg a celkem 11 nemocných (48%) odpovědělo na podání NO signifikantním zvýšením 01. Na základě našich výsledků soudíme, že inhalace NO je účinnější v časnější fázi onemocnění ARDS ještě před rozvojem kritické hypoxemie.

During 1998-1999 inhaled nitric oxide (NO) was tested in 23 ARDS patients (13 in Pilsen centre, 10 in Brno centre) with the mean age of 48 years (range 20 - 74 years). Oxygenation index (01 = paO2/FiO2) before the NO test (10 - 20 ppm for 30 minutes) was 100 46 mmHg and 11 patients (48%) responded to inhaled NO with a significant 01 increase. We conclude that ARDS patients may profit from inhaled NO in the early phase of the disease before critical hypoxemia develops.
