Abstract
A summary of research presented in five final-year theses, supporting Josef Vacheks observation about condensation phenomena. In his own reserach, the author shows that condensation is linked both with hypotactical and paratactical sentences. A degree of condensation can be established for various functional styles, from fairy tales to scientific writing.
