Abstract
Background and Aim: The practice in running the pedagogically psychological counselling center at the Faculty of Computer Science (Masaryk University, Brno) has taught us that students and young teachers prefer an electronic form of communication to other alternatives. Main Contribution: The objective of the nascent e-center utilized for this counselling is to offer an introductory contact with its clients together with the provision of initial information in an electronic way. The introductory part of the article describes the experience the authors have attained hitherto and contains a discussion pertaining to pros and cons of such a service. The other parts focus on the development of the web application proper. Stress is placed on database structure, security issues and the IT suitable for their implementation. Moreover, the article also introduces fundamental functions of the whole system. Conclusion: The utility of the project is worthy of further research.
