The method of determination of degradation profile of colored nitroaromatic compounds by the use of automatic spectrophotometer BIOSCREEN C was developed and used for assessment of degradation of selected nitrophenolic compounds (4-nitrophenol, 4-nitroquaiacol, 4-nitrocatechol). Bacterial strains isolated from soil were used for degradation. Bacterial culture was cultivated in separated cells of the microplate under defined conditions. Degradation profiles for selected strains were confirmed by simultaneous measurement by conventional way - in flasks with 50 ml of media, concentrations of substrates in samples were determined by HPLC.
