Abstract

Doslov hodnotí neprávem opomíjenou osobnost Josefa Mülbergera (1903 - 1985) nejen jako autora povídek s tématikou vyhnání Němců, nýbrž i jako překladatele české literatury, jejího popularizátora v Německu, jako historika německy psané literatury z Čech a Moravy a vydavatele časopisu Witiko, usilujícího a překonávání propasti mezi Čechy a Němci za první republiky. V závěru se doslov pokouší se o interpretaci přeloženého díla, jež otevřelo Mühlbergerovi cestu do slavného nakladatelství Insel.

Abstract (in English)

The postface to the Czech edition of "Die Knaben und der Fluss", the best known work of Josef Muehlberger (1903 - 1985), tries to reevaluate Muehlberger's importance in today's context. Not only as of an author of short stories describing the post-war expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia (1945), but as well as of an influential translator and "evangelist" of Czech literature in Germany, a historian of the German language literature from Bohemia and Moravia, and last but not least as of an editor of literary review Witiko (1928 - 1931), which has tried to bridge the chasm between Czechs and Germans.
