Anotace
It is obvious that people solve different situations which commonly occur in a company's life with various successfulness. Successfulness of teams in organizations is impacted, above all, by external factors (general environment - society climate, legislation, economy, politics, technology; industry environment - aggressiveness of competitors, market position, nature of cooperation; internal influences - shared values, stakeholders expectations, strategy, structure, collaborators, a company's culture and accessible resources) and motivation of employees (beliefs, values, attitudes, acts, behavior, internal orientation and personality). In this article, the author is going to offer an approach which can be used for a description of the influences, team structure, attributes and motivation of employees and, based on that, can predict probable team's performance. The approach has been adopted from object-oriented programming, where it is widely used for software development. The author transforms its basic terms (class, attribute and method) and properties (inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation) to the world of management and tries to formalize individual categories of influencing factors. Such formalization allows us to apply a set of rules (knowledge base) to certain conditions and to predict probable behavior of team members and the performance of a superior unit (team, department or company). In practice, this approach could be used e.g. for optimization (how a company should change its structure or make-up of teams if conditions change) or what-if analysis (what can occur if some conditions change).
