Abstract
Tříletý porjekt prezentuje sociologickou charakteristiku a analýzu některých forem ekologicky příznivého životního způsobu v realitě a odhaduje možnosti jeho rozšíření.

Abstract (in English)
The three-year project fulfilled the aims expressed in its application: it presents the sociological description and analysis of some forms of ecologically friendly lifestyle practiced in reality, and at the same time avoiding the usual appeal for the change of values. It estimates the possibilities of these forms of lifestyle to extend. The results confirmed the hypothesis that ecologically friendly lifestyles have not to be the return to primitivism. They are the expression of cultural development, they mean both emotional cultivation and rational thinking of everyday praxis of life. The work was rooted in the theoretical, historical and linguistic analysis of basic terms: poverty - want - modesty, welfare - consumerism - luxury. It formulates a definition of the ecological luxury. The main part of the project is the empirical comparative research of the voluntarily modest families. It compares their contemporary situation with the state ten years ago (published in the book The Colourful and the Green: Some Chapters on Voluntary Modesty, Librová, Brno 1994), specially in the dimensions of migration, number of children, the position of woman, the economic situation and both the level and structure of consumption, the attitudes of growing children towards low consumption, leisure time activities, the participation in the community life. The visual material was collected during the reasearch inteviews. It become a basis for a prepared film and for the photo documentation of the book The Half-hearted & the Hesitant: Chapters on Ecological Luxury (Doplněk, Brno 2003). This book of Hana Librová is the main result of the whole project, containing all important results. The English resume is finished.
