Abstract
There is acid mine drainage with extremely high concentrations of dissolved species at waste rock pile at Mine Doyon, Québec, Canada. This is related to the oxidation of pyrite in sericite schist. Rate of pyrite oxidation is very high especially close to slope of the pile due to convective oxygen supply. Dissolved concentrations are also increased as a consequence of evaporation within the pile.

Kyselé důlní vody na haldě důlních odpadů na Mine Doyon v Québecu v Kanadě mají extrémně vysoké koncentrace rozpuštěných látek. To je spojeno s oxidací pyritu v sericitických svorech. Rychlost oxidace je obvzlášť vysoké blízko svahů haldy, kde transport kyslíku probíhá konvekcí. Koncentrace v pórové vodě také zvyšuje výpar uvnitř haldy.
