Abstract
Goitrogenic effects of excessive bromide in rats are summarized. We suggest that high levels of bromide in the organism of experimental animals can influence their iodine metabolism in two parallel ways: by a decrease in iodide accumulation in the thyroid, and by a rise in iodide excretion by kidneys.

V práci jsou shrnuty poznatky o strumigenních účincích nadbytečného bromidu u potkana. Předpokládáme, že vysoké hladiny bromidu v organismu experimentálních zvířat mohou ovlivňovat jejich metabolismus jodu dvěma paralelními způsoby: snižováním akumulace jodidu ve štítné žláze a zvyšováním rychlosti vylučování jodidu ledvinami.
