Abstract
Over the last three decades, only a limited amount of empirical and theoretical studies on the influence of NFP practice on marital quality has been published. In addition, as some commentators emhasized, empirical studies in this area is often accompanied with serious methodological flaws. In the first part of our paper we briefly reviewed past research on psychosocial aspects of NFP with special attention paid to the methodological issues. We summarised some useful recomendations for the improvement of quality of future studies. In the second part, we made a proposal of research questions and topics for future investigations.
