Abstract
The author places Trapido's fiction in the British tradition of comic novel while relating it to the postmodern society of the end of the millennium. She shows how Trapido's text, ruled by a kind of 'comic anarchy', offers a unique combination of the serious with the comical, which is the hallmark of Trapido's novel.
