Abstract
Hazardous waste cleanup sites create health hazards by the nature of their contamination. In addition, they adversely impact human health by air emissions generated during site characterization and remedial processes. These emissions can be substantial, especially those associated with energy utilization at waste sites. Treatment of polluted sites is complicated, expensive and energy consuming process. Nowadays the modern computer science brings us possibilities of environmental mathematics modeling. Decision Support tool such as out project belongs to this kind of possibilities. The multidimensional decision tool is a web based tool that estimates energy requirements of individual remedial technologies at waste clean up sites and computes the air emissions produced by remedial processes, Global Warming Potential and presents the energy efficiency at remedial sites. The decision mechanism is mainly based on fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms.
