TY - JOUR ID - 618608 AU - Bečanová, Jitka - Šimek, Zdeněk - Herníková, Věra PY - 2005 TI - Separation of Trinitrotoluenes and Product of their Biotransformation by Capillary Electrophoresis and Liquid Chromatography PB - 29th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations ond Related Techniques CY - Stockholm, Sweden KW - Trinitrotoluenes KW - Capillary Electrophoresis KW - Liquid Chromatography N2 - Nitroderivatives of toluene such as trinitrotoluenes and products of their biotranformations, aminodinitrotoluenes (ADNT) and diaminonitrotoluenes (DANT) are widely distributed in the environment. These compounds have been found as contaminants in soils at munitions manufacturing facilities, storage depots, and sites of the explosives use. They have mutagenic, carcinogenic and toxic effects [1]. Comparison of retention behaviour of selected nitroderivatives of toluene and aminonitroderivatives of toluene in liquid chromatography (HPLC), capillary electrochromatography (CEC) and micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MECC) separation systems is presented. Effect of pH, concentration of background electrolyte, sodium dodecylsulphate and organic modifier concentration both in electrolyte and mobile phase was investigated. Different gradient elution in reversed phase liquid chromatography system was studied. The applicability of used separation method for determination of toluene nitroderivatives in environmental samples is discussed. ER -
