Abstract
Factors controlling arsenic mobilization in the aquifers of the Río Dulce alluvial cone were investigated. Volcanic ash was suggested as a primary source of arsenic. Elevated pH values and competition with other oxyanions for adsorption sites promote release of arsenic. Organic matter from excessive irrigation may promote release of arsenic locally.

Byly zkoumány faktory způsobující mobilizaci arzenu v kolektorech aluviálních náplavů Río Dulce. Vulkanický popel byl navržen jako primární zdroj arzenu. Vysoké hodnoty pH a kompetice o adsorpční místa způsobují uvolnění arzenu. Vstup organické hmoty z přílišných závlah může způsobovat uvolňování arzenu v lokálním měřítku.
