Abstract

The French communist party was one of the most important communist parties in Western Europe especially in terms of number of members but also in terms of electoral results or in terms of the place of communism in the public debate. Since at least two decades, this party is seen to be in a deep crisis and is often considered to be dying. In this article, we will focus on the reasons of crisis but also try to show, that the notion of crisis is very relative because of the capacity of the party to preserve some relevant political influence and to explain how the party is trying to overcome this crisis in a way that weaken the traditional communist group and identity.

Abstract (in Czech)

Francouzská komunistická strana byla historicky jednou z nejvýznamnějších komunistických stran v západní Evropě, a to jak co se týče počtu členů, tak volebních výsledků, tak pozice ve veřejné debatě. V posledních dvou desetiletích se nicméně tato strana nachází v hluboké krizi. Tento článek analyzuje příčiny nynější krize. Ukazuje, že pojem krize je do značné míry relativní, vzhledem ke schopnosti strany udržet si určitý významný politický vliv, a představuje způsoby, jimiž se strana snaží krizi překonat, které ale ve svém konečném důsledku oslabují tradiční komunistickou skupinu a identitu.
