Curent study showed that (i) sRAGE significantly differed among subjects bearing variable number of RAGE2 haplotype copies, (ii) was significantly higher in subjects with nephropathy than normoalbuminuric patients and (iii) positively correlated with severity of nephropathy, S-urea, S-creatinine and negatively with glomerular filtration rate (GFR). GFR seems to be principal determinant of the AGE and sRAGE levels. ER -
