Abstract
Members of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are implicated in the chronic remodelling in periodontal diseases. Therefore we performed a case-control study to investigate a plausible association between susceptibility to chronic periodontitis (CP) and the polymorphisms in the MMP9 (gelatinase B) gene.

Rodina enzymů matrix metaloproteináz (MMP) se podílí na chronické remodelaci u onemocnění parodontu. Cílem naší práce bylo posoudit vztah mezi chronickou parodontitidou (CP)a polymorfizmy v genu pro MMP9 (gelatinázu B).
