Abstract

Cílem symposia byla interdisciplinární diskuse na téma tělo a tělesnost v sociálních vědách. Genderové konfrontace jsou prostorem, který umožňuje srovnávat perspektivy různých paradigmat a disciplín na vědecké úrovni a vystoupit tak z populárního diskursu masmédií, pro něž je otázka genderu a lidské biologické podmíněnosti často námětem pro senzaci a ospravedlňování nejrůznějších sociálních nerovností. Genderové konfrontace II otevřely diskusi nad tím, jak se s přírodou v sociálněvědních disciplínách vyrovnat, jak mohou přírodní vědy obohatit vědy společenské a naopak a jak mohou a jak by neměli sociální vědkyně a vědci pracovat s konceptem přírody a lidské přirozenosti.

Abstract (in English)

The aim of the symposium was an interdisciplinary discussion on the topic of body and corporality in social sciences. Gender confrontations offer ground to compare perspectives of various paradigms and disciplines at a scientific level and thus withdraw from the popular discourse of mass media that view the issue of gender and human biological conditionality as a frequent topic of stunt and justification of various social disparities. Gender Confrontations II introduced a discussion about how to deal with the nature in social scientific disciplines, how natural sciences can be enriched by social sciences and vice versa, and how social scientists can or should not examine the notion of the nature and human nature.
