Abstract

The evaluation of one s own abilities and the formation of individual aspiration limiting the level of achievement is an important aspect of self-esteem in adolescence. The adequate correspondence between perceived approval by the others and various aspects of self-esteem is essential as well. The overall level of self-esteem is affected by experiences of success and failure and by the perception of causality in regard to one s own achievement. The children aged between 12 and 15 years completed self-esteem questionnaire based on C. R. Rogers concepts and bi-polar scales of four causal factors (abilities, effort, task difficulty, chance) to assess their school achievement. The data analyses were conducted separately for pupils with good school results and pupils with school failure. The association between adequate self-esteem and aspiration level and the responsibility for one s own achievement was found.

Důležitým aspektem sebepojetí v období dospívání je hodnocení vlastních schopností a utváření individuálních aspirací, které limitují úroveň dosahovaných výkonů. Důležitý je i přiměřený soulad mezi percipovaným hodnocením ze strany druhých a různými aspekty sebehodnocení. Celková sebehodnotící tendence je ovlivňována zážitky úspěchu a neúspěchu a percepcí kauzality ve vztahu k vlastním výkonům. Ve výzkumu realizovaném u dospívajících ve věku 12 – 15 let jsme použili dotazník sebepojetí vycházející z koncepce C. R.Rogerse a bipolární škály čtyř kauzálních faktorů (schopnosti, úsilí, obtížnost úkolu, náhoda) k posuzování vlastních školních výkonů žáků. Získaná data byla analyzována zvlášť pro prospívající a neprospívající žáky. Ukázalo se, že přiměřené sebepojetí a aspirační úroveň jsou spojeny s přijímáním odpovědnosti za své výkony.
